Lala Chong Seafood Restaurant @ Kayu Ara, Petaling Jaya

It has really been ages since we've been to Lala Chong Seafood Restaurant, and my parents decided to re-visit the restaurant again after so long. We arrived there early, and the place was not fully occupied yet - so this means, we were still able to find a good parking spot.

While waiting for our dishes to be served, we get to munch on some snacks.

Pickled Mangoes with Sour Plum and Chili Padi

This was my favourite appetizer of the night! I love the mixture of sweet and sour from the crunchy mangoes and sour plum, and the litted spiciness from the chili padi - it's so appetizing!

I did not tryout their nuts on the table, but I heard my family saying they were too salty.

Stir Fried Kangkung with Sambal Belacan

Stir Fried Kangkung with Sambal Belacan (RM20). I love sambal belacan! This is a must-order dish whenever I go. Their kangkung was stir fried to just nice, and the sambal belacan wasn't too salty. On the other hand, I only wish that this dish would be spicier -  it lacks the heat that a sambal belacan should have.

 Herbal Chicken Soup

The Herbal Chicken Soup (RM43) wasn't too bad. The soup was flavourful from the chinese herbs, and they have quite a few ingredients inside the soup - chicken (of course...), fish maw, sea cucumber, fresh and dried scallops. One downside of the soup, it was a little too salty for my taste, but my parents thought it was just nice. I'm not too sure does the saltiness came from the dried scallops or too much salt in the soup. Nevertheless, it was still a pot of delicious and flavorful soup.

Stir Fried Meehon with Lala

I did not order any rice to go with the dishes because I wanted to savour their Stir Fried Meehon with Lala (a.k.a clams) (RM25). The meehon was delicious by itself, and it doesn't need additional sauces to go with. I only wished they could have added more lala in the dish.

Salted Baked Fish

This was another star of the night too - Salted Baked Fish (RM37). They would cover up the fish with a thick layer of salt and baked it. This way, they were able to contain the moisture in the meat, so that it wouldn't get dried up during the baking process; also, the salt actually added flavors to the dish. It's a simple yet flavorful dish. They actually served the dish with a plate of lime and garlic sauce for you to go with the fish, but I still prefer to enjoy this dish as it is. I don't really enjoy my fish other than steaming it, because they usually gets too dry; but this....I totally love it!

 Salted Egg Crab

THE STAR of the night - Salted Egg Crab (RM108). I don't really fancy much about salted egg crab, as most of the restaurant kinda screw this dish up. Though this wasn't the best salted egg crab I've eaten, but it's worth the mention still. The crabs were nicely covered by the fragrant salted egg, and you could taste the salted egg with every bite.

All in all, it was a satisfying dinner and our bill came to RM308.15 (including the snacks and drinks and taxes) for 8 pax.

Beauty Must Have: Part II - A Love Affair with MooGoo

19:46 becky-wong 1 Comments

MooGoo came into my life just end of last year, and I have been hearing positive remarks on their products. It is an Australian brand. I've tried out some of their products, which I'll talk about in my future posts, and now I'm totally in love with their Acne Cleansing Cream. I have been battling with acne problems for years, and it would get worsen during my menstrual period. However, after I've started using their Acne Cleansing Cream, things have changed for me!

I like their packaging - it comes in a milk-carton-like box - so cute! You would have to open the box from the top, like how you would open your milk carton.

"MooGoo is an Australian company that makes a range of natural, safe products with effective active ingredients designed for people with skin and scalp problems." Guess how their products came about! It was made when their founder adapted a cream used in dairy farms to help a family member with a skin problem.

The cream might look heavy or oily, but its the other way round. It gets absorp into the skin very fast and it doesn't leave the heavy sticky feeling on your skin. I started only using the cream aroud my jaw-line area, since that's where I have the most acne problem. My acne started to clear up after a few application, and I'm not having any acne problem even I'm menstruating! Seriously, not even a bump of acne or pimple on my face ever since I started using this. The cream totally keep my acne condition under control, and now I do not have to fear when my menstrual is near. On top of all these goodness in a bottle, you do not need to apply a huge amount of cream on the face - the amount in the photo above is already sufficient for me to apply on my whole face.

I really strongly recommend anyone who is having acne or pimples issues to tryout this cream. In fact, I would recomment MooGoo to anyone in a heart beat! If anyone have a holy grail in their skincare routine, I've found my ultimate holy grail - MooGoo Skincare!

You can find their products in Caring Pharmacy and some of the Watsons Pharmacy. Sadly, in Malaysia, we do not bring in their whole range of products. Hence, for anyone of you that would like to browse through their entire range or purchase on-line, please go to their website:

http://www.moogoo.com.au/

From their Australia website, you can actually link to their Malaysia webpage and have a look on the range that we are currently selling in Malaysia - http://moogoo.my/

P/s: I sincerely do hope that this post of mine will be able to solve your acne/pimples problem!
